Actually, now that I think about it:
friends in Blackburg has the killings at Tech
friend in ST Paul had bridge collapsing
family in Washington had a terrific storm and lost power for days and weeks
Richmond got hit by a hurricane a couple of years ago too. I guess Hawai'i just has a higher percentage of disaster exposure?

The same person that devised the Santorum Slip n Slide was the same person to teach me fireballs.

Ingredients: Everclear, lighter and possibly a road flare.
Method:
1. Mouth full of everclear,
2. hold lighter 3-5" from your mouth,
3. Pucker lips like you're blowing a trumpet
4. Blow

For best results replace the lighter with a road flare or campfire. Also, best to do this in a southern state with bumperless car in yard and while intoxicated. Appropriate additions include daisy dukes, the firing of guns, beast and pig's feet.

is that how they talk on the mainland?

Having just returned from my trip back to the mainland yesterday, I'm still exhausted.
Here's a list of things I didn't like:
1. Driving
2. Other people driving
3. Other people not having/using turn signals while driving
4. Everyone in a rush
5. Being told that I don't listen to advice and I try to do too much when what I really need is help.
6. Not sleeping enough
7. Sleeping in a room with other people
8. Driving through DC with unexpected construction and having the detour put me going in the wrong direction
9. Missing Paul's wedding for the above
10. Missing my grandmother and aunt's birthday parties because of the above
11. Getting lost in rva
12. Adjacent passengers on airlines with a rat tail who growls intermittently and gives me the weird eye for eating vegan.
13. Funerals
14. listening to / hearing about Cho

Things I do like:
Seeing Sid & Gus, Joday & Chris, Marilyn
Eating Arabic food
Coming home to the Mz.

Glad to be back on the island.

Virginia is for Losers

Virginia has had a rough string of incidents recently. Here are three.

1. Henry County Police officers arresting dealers, stealing their crop and reselling it to their community. A good friend is from Basset, his response:

Yeah my dad was the only guy of authority on his
floor this morning that
wasnt in custody......
go dad........

2. Mr Utin was arrested for sexing it up with a minor. When I moved from the Blacksburg New School to the public school in 6th grade, of the 12 kids in my class 10 went to Mr Utin. This was a planned event by their parents and for some reason I wasn't included. I went to the Pavlik-Glaser teacher team and the smart kid went to smart teacher. The house we lived in when my I was in middle school was about 4 blocks from his house, he had beautiful gardens.

3. Last on the list for Virginia is Morva. A kid I grew up with in Blacksburg, he lived in my house for a winter, he ate my food and used my toilet paper. He never wore shoes or held a job. He loved to argue and got angry quickly. He laughed very loud and couldn't stand society. One day I woke up with a voice mail from a Christiansburg detective. Now he's an attempted robber and cop killer.
