In middle-school I was into Led Zepplin, high-school was Nine Inch Nails, 'college' I found hip hop. Now I can't stop listening to dubstep.  What's next?

I'm also studying for the CCENT and then the CCNA. $25 for two text books and I'm off and reading. A friend is also studying for his, we Skype on Sundays and review our reading. It keeps me honest and motivated. Study buddies are the best.

Jessie has been feeding me salads for lunch and al fresco for dinner. It's amazing.

Last night we canned blueberries with our friend. We made 4 jars and they're beautiful black gold.  A coworker was really blown away, when he realized what he was looking at I could see memories flooding his brain as he talked about canning with his grandmother as a child. He looked and me and said "this is an lost art!"

That's my life right now.

Princess Superstar. I'm pretty sure she's my new favorite music person. She does this song about quitting smoking. I wish I'd had it when I quit. If you recognize her buuurilliance and want the rest let me know.

Yikes, what tiny worthless posts. It's not my fault I'm going through a dry spell.

Oh! Wait. I forgot to tell you how awesome Frontalot is. I came across a pirated copy of his new album, which I like immensely. I didn't want a physical CD because.... well I keep all my music on a computer but I wanted to pay him for his efforts. So I shot him an email and we worked out a solution. I ended up donating $25 to his fan club. How cool?

One of the few groups that have embraced digital music and realized that many of their fans use computers is NIN. In a cool move Trent released all the master tracks for many songs for free on his own site. The idea being you can download and remix them. Here's a bunch of these remixes: http://www.9inchnails.com/remixes/
If you head to NIN.com you can find videos, high quality widscreen backgrounds.
You might also notice that the last stop on their tour is a slice of meat in the sandwich isles on which I live.
Mrs PI and I have tickets, plane tickets, hotel reservations and a car rental. My plan is to catch up with them on Waikiki the next day as it's the last stop on their tour. Of course they'll be on the beach.

HA! Still a worthless post.

Music

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker is my favorite song. I know this, I've loved it for a number of years, I've never grown tired of it, it always makes me feel better. Tool has a similar effect for a lot of people, they listen to it when they're tired and upset or lonely.

Pinback is some of the best music I've ever heard. Usually suited for slow times in the evenings, but it's one of the few bands that can actually bring tears to my eyes with the sounds that they make. I used to listen to it in rva when I was drinking or when I came home from work in the morning and was not feeling right.

Mindless self indulgence always makes me a little more energetic and often makes me laugh 'cause of their silly lyrics. They're one of the more original bands that I know of.

NIN is also an all time favorite and has been since my brother made me watch my first video of his (Why are so many youtube videos such low quality?). Iif you haven't caught the new nin tracks they're called: My Violent Heart and Survivalism. YearZero due out in April.

We rented a car this week while the fiance is here and it has a radio. It's difficult to listen to the radio any other time so this is a treat. Hawaii has a ton of radio stations that Sublime, Brother Iz, and other typical island music. Today I heard a song called Hilo Rain. It's neat hearing a song written about the place you live in. Sure there are many of them about NY, San Francisco, LA and Miami, but I've never lived in them. No one ever sang about Blacksburg or Lund, I'm sure rva has been mentioned in some rhymes but nothing I've ever heard of.

Primus did a song called You Can't Kill Michael Malloy, read Micael Malloy's Wikipus, interesting stuff.

Finally, I've been playing this browser based game called Tribal Wars, if you feel like joining I'm playing on World 4. Happy to give an invite.
